Girl Interrupted Skate Board from Zazzle.com
New skate deck design by me. The design is a combination of a hand drawn sketch converted into a graphic illustration and then digitized for that etched like feel. Enjoy.
What's in the works...
It's been some time since I posted, but I've been busy on other random projects. I've been experimenting with paint markers and watercolors which I am not accustomed to using. Plus other types of paper material. While doing so I decided to sign up for this sketchbook project by Art House Co-op. They have put together this tour (as they like to call it) where artist submit their sketchbook and the book goes on displayed in different cities. When the tour is over the books will live in the Brooklyn Library forever. Pretty exciting.
So here I am with a blank sketchbook with nothing but possibilities. The game plan is on and I hope to show you my progress soon. The theme of my book is Secret Code... OH HOW FUN!!!!

Felt the urge to update the look and feel of my art gallery site. I've also added an option to shop! Some of the items in the store are new and not in the gallery, so go check it out and buy something while you are there. I need to buy more art supplies.

It is official, I'm a fan of folk music. I've always had an appreciation for it after reading the Woody Guthrie biography back in high school, and my teacher playing one of Woody's album for us. Now after seeing a few shows live I really enjoy the story telling and comical interaction with the audience. I've just returned from listening to Phranc and I'm a new fan. I enjoyed her music and the lyrics are just fantastic. My friend Kevin invited me to the show at McCabe's Guitar Shop and I want to go back again. Excellent evening.
Thanks again Kev. for introducing me to something pretty awesome. Ruby join us next time! :-)
Early this year Brenda and I decided to launch a new venture. We started working together with our Photo Phridays group and had such a great time that we decided to join up and take it more seriously. We launched our phase 1 site on January 27, 2010. We will be concentrating on product photography, headshots and retouching as well as commercial work. Don't worry though we still plan on having some fun with our Photo Phriday group. To all of our friends who have participated in getting us here, thank you very much you are all terrific!
Working on a series of small ink and watercolor illustrations. There will be 8 total of different skeleton body parts. The look is inspired by the traditional botanical prints. I have combined the skeleton and the flowers to signify the root and evolving growth of life.
Stay tune for more to come.
I inspire! I see a trend here and I like it. My dear friend Greg has decorated his office and created a piece of artwork to compliment a painting I did for him a while back. He has created this beautiful large cement piece (right of pict) to compliment my portrait. I love the colors and the contrast of the roughness of the painting in comparison w/everything around it. It really is a honor for me to see friends take something I created as inspiration. This is very exciting for me and makes me want to do more. Thank you!
Greg when it warms up I need to visit Boston. Gotta make it happen this year! XOXO
After a rainy week I went out to get my much needed beach time. I wanted to go photograph surfers off the pier but the pier was closed do to some holiday preparations for the evening. At the end of the trip the only photo I really liked was this one.

My new design portfolio is live. Along with this portfolio I am launching my freelance career. After many years of working in the corporate environment I have decided to go solo and tackle the various exciting projects that are out there, from information architecture to design and illustration or photography. Whatever is required I can pretty much do it. Pass the word.
Thank you my friends for all your support.
Comments/Critiques are very much welcomed.
While I was away I searched and found the art store. Walked five blocks bought some paints, brushes and canvas, which allowed me to sneak in a painting. The artwork was inspired by silliness and the fall.
Acrylic - 8x16"
I've been busy working on some personal projects so stay tune for a new portfolio web site and new poster designs. Web site should be ready in 2 weeks. Posters a little after that.
My friend Brenda a wonderful photographer decided to photograph her pregnant friend and I am honored that she used one of my paintings as her inspiration. When I first saw this I almost cried. Beautiful work a real honor.
Some days its just pure silliness. Brenda and I experimenting with gels and a single light source with a foil snoot. Results a wacky photo and a good time. This photo cracks me up every time I see it and for me that equals success.
